Director of Sports says all will be ready for big game on Saturday

CG Rebels set and ready to go
Press Release

Charlestown, Nevis - Director of Sports on Nevis, Lincoln Barry is confident that all will be in place for the proposed big match up in the SKABA Premier Division third finals set for Nevis this coming Saturday night.

Yesterday afternoon, Barry indicated that the two poles have already been inserted at the Netball Complex and the back boards, rings and final marking of the court are expected to be completed by today Wednesday.  SKABA officials are due over on Thursday 21st October to conduct an inspection and Barry expects the green light to be given for the match on Saturday night.

Fans are expected to crowd the Grell-Hull/Stevens Netball Complex on Saturday night to witness the historic third game of the best of five finals between Nevis’ Basketball champions-Hon Joseph Parry CG Rebels and St.Kitts’ multi crowned Basketball Champs—The Rams Energizer Hitters.

The CG Rebels pulled off a stunning, heart stopping, upset victory on Sunday night last when they beat their opponents on home turf 82-78.

Game two is set for tomorrow Thursday 21st October and rumours are rife that the Hitters are sending for one or more of their overseas based players.  The Rebels on the other hand would be more than consoled in the knowledge that their star scorer for the season who was incidentally missing in action in game one in Jennerson France, will be back for the crucial game two.

France has been a dynamo on court all season and his sizzling moves and dazzling shooting ability has taken the wind out of most teams.  Additionally if the skills demonstrated by Everson Webbe in the first game is anything to go by, the Hitters with or without their additional arsenal, will have their hands full.

Director of Sports, Lincoln Barry has arranged another charter via the MV Caribe Queen and for just $50.00 Basketball fans on Nevis will be entitled to a round trip ticket which will serve as entrance ticket to the Basketball city and may even entitle the fans to a few complimentary drinks on the boat—if the numbers are right.

Hitters are determined to even the scores before the match in Nevis while the Rebels are intent on making it 2-0 tomorrow night and then seal the deal in front of the home fans starting at 7pm on Saturday night.

We all await the outcome of this intriguing contest.

    END
