The Android Revolution has arrived!

The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 mini pro
LIME Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts October 20, 2010: LIME today announced the availability of its first Android mobile handset—the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 mini pro.  The device is one of Sony Ericsson’s latest releases and is already getting rave reviews.

Android is an Operating system developed by Google for mobile technology. The Android platform enables cell phone manufacturers to develop phones and devices with greater capabilities and versatility than most other types of technology in the market.

According to Emerson Hewitt, LIME Vice President of Imagineering; “Combining the Android platform with fantastic applications, users can truly transform this phone into whatever they like. Straightforward communication gives way to greater forms of entertainment; games, sports, health, news.  They can choose from a multitude of applications at Android Market™ and create a mobile phone experience that is user friendly, media rich and unique. Users can go a step further and customize the home screen’s four corners and widgets to access the most needed applications for limitless possibilities.”

Rikko Sakaguchi, EVP and Chief Creation Officer, Sony Ericsson said: “There has been an enormous buzz around Xperia™ X10 so it is really exciting to be already unveiling compact versions of this powerful proposition. With the X10 mini pro we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with smaller devices and are giving consumers exactly what they want; a high performance mobile phone with a fully customizable user experience platform and a stunning ultra-compact design.”

Among the many applications is Sony Ericsson Timescape™ which brings all communication together in one place so users can see at glance text messages, missed calls and Facebook™ and Twitter updates, without having to open several different applications.  The interactive music player also uses the “infinite button” to pull together all music content from the music store and YouTube™ – a smart way to search for new tracks from a favourite artist.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 mini pro will be available in LIME’s mobile store in St. Kitts & Nevis from Monday 25th at a price of EC$1299.
