BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO unidentified men were this morning (Oct. 20) engaged in an altercation in Newtown, which resulted in one chasing the other and indiscriminately firing a number of shots at him. Fortunately, no one was injured but two vehicles sustained damage.

On arrival at the scene, SKNVibes met a relatively large contingent of law enforcement officers, including members of the Crime Scene and Criminal Investigation Departments.

This media house learnt that the altercation began at about 10:00 a.m. in Lower Pitcairn Street where the first shot was fired, after which the intended victim ran along that street then into George Street while the gunman continued shooting in his direction.

The indiscriminate shooting resulted in one of the bullets striking the right rear window of a bus and exiting through the left rear window. However, during its flight, the bullet struck the windscreen of a parked car on Upper Pitcairn Street and was lodged on the front seat.

It was observed that while processing the scene, police found four spent shells at various points. However, neither the intended victim nor the gunman’s identity was revealed.
