Five of seven bills for debate in the National Assembly

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 21TH 2010 (CUOPM) – Five of seven bills that will be introduced and given a first reading when the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly meets next week Tuesday 26th October will be debated.
According to the Order Paper released Wednesday by the Clerk of the lawmaking body, Mr. Jose Lloyd, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time The Public Service Bill, 2010; The Excise Tax Bill, 2010; The Unincorporated Business Tax Bill, 2010; The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2010 and The Duty Free Shops (Licensing and Taxation) Bill 2010.
Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Hon. Patrice Nisbett will seek leave to have introduced and read a first time, The Evidence Bill 2010 and Minister of Health, Social Services, Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Hon. Marcella Liburd will introduced and read a first time the St. Kitts District of the Wesleyan Holiness Church (Amendment) Bill, 2010.
According to the Order Paper, all bills except the Public Service Bill and the Evidence Bill will be given a second reading, debated and passed.
The National Assembly meeting begins at 11 A.M. on Tuesday.
