Tourism Awards to make history at Brimstone Hill Fortress

    Basseterre 22nd October 2010: For the first time in its storied history, the Annual Tourism Awards Banquet, a collaboration of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport will be held at the historic Brimstone Hill National Park and Fortress on Saturday 23rd October 2010.
     
    The Awards, which are held annually every October as part of the Tourism Awareness Month of Activities, brings together stakeholders and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the tourism industry over the past year. Categories include: Hotel of the Year, Outstanding Cruise Partner of the Year, Most Eco-Friendly and Taxi Service Award. Previous winners include the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway.
     
    The Awards Ceremony serves as one of the major highlights in an event filled Tourism Awareness month, and helps raise the standard of service by encouraging industry stakeholders to enhance visitors’ experience and improve the marketability of the destination.
     
    St. Lucia’s own Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Senator Allen M. Chastanet will be this year’s keynote speaker.
     
    The Month of Activities continue with the Heritage Treasure Hunt (Friday 22nd October), the Movado Fashion Show on Sunday 24th October and Market Place on Friday 29th October, 2010.
