Charlestown, Nevis - At a meeting held at the ETW Park yesterday afternoon, the matter of the proposed Masters’ Parish league slated for November was discussed.
Certain recommendations were made and the following changes have been made to the original proposals:
• The proposed start date has been shifted from Sunday 7th November to Sunday fourteenth November in order to avoid a clash with the mega drag racing event planned for the 7th November.
• Players will now be able to play for a team of their choice. They will not be restricted to their area of residence
• The age of participation has been lowered to 39 years and there is a possibility that it may be further lowered if teams are having difficulty fielding eleven players of the required age group
• Players of all teams will wear coloured trousers of their choice—not white, but will wear the established coloured shirt utilized in the tournament last year as used to represent the individual Parishes
• The general rules utilized in international 20/20 matches will take precedence
• The following persons may be contacted to confirm participation in the league:
St.Thomas’: Deryck Parry and Teddy ‘Blackman’ Liburd
St.George’s: Sydney Newton, Errol Somersall and Curtis Morton
St.John’s: Bernette ‘Nutsy’ Thompson and Errol ‘Jabal’ Walwyn
St.Paul’s: Elroy ‘Jimbo’ David and Merlin Liburd
St.James’: Wendell ‘Micey’ Wallace and Winston Sutton
