BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 30TH 2010 (CUOPM) – As the Government and People of St. Vincent and the grenadines celebrate the 31st Anniversary of Independence, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas is highlighting the contribution of that country’s Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves to the development of the region.
“I am pleased to be working side by side with you on the pressing issues that confront all governments across our region as we co-labour to advance the interests of the resilient and noble people of our region, including the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” said Dr. Douglas in a congratulatory message.
Conveying best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Douglas said the allows the People of St. Vincent and Grenadines to “pause to remember the sacrifice and vision of the national heroes who have set the foundation for progress and development that have transformed St. Vincent and the Grenadines into the proud and indomitable sovereign nation that it is today.”
“Honourable Prime Minister, I am certain that history will judge your leadership as well and find it equal, if not superior, in stature and mettle to the giants who have preceded you,” said Dr. Douglas to his St. Vincent and the Grenadines counterpart.
“As the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines look towards the future, may they be comforted by the fact that while they may not be at the end of the road, the light of your visionary and distinguished leadership will continue to illuminate that path to progress and success,” said Prime Minister Douglas.
