Young woman murdered at Pond Hill

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST five days after grappling with the murder of a young man from Newtown, the Federation is being forced to deal with yet another; this time, a young woman in Nevis.

     

    Reports which reached SKNVibes indicate that the body of a woman was found in the Pond Hill, Gingerland area sometime this morning (Nov. 2). These reports suggest that the woman is purported to be Chantellica Thompson from Brown Hill but was residing at Pond Hill.

     

    Information surrounding the incident remains sketchy, but it is alleged that the body bore signs of violence.

     

    Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime (ACP Crime) Joseph Liburd, confirmed the name of the deceased and indicated that she is 19 years old. He also informed that the body was discovered in her home.

     

    Investigations into the incident are ongoing and at press time, SKNVibes understands that officers were still at the scene processing and conducting preliminary investigations.

     

    Persons with information pertinent to this case are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 469-5391, and are at liberty to divulge the information on condition of anonymity. The police have promised that all information received will be handled with the strictest of confidence.

     

    Thompson is Nevis’ fifth homicide victim for the year and the Federation’s 21st.
