CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE boyfriend of 19-year-old Chantelica ‘Channy’ Thompson is currently in custody assisting police with their investigations into her death.
Thompson, who originally hails from Brown Hill Village, Nevis, was found sometime after 9:00 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 2) in her Pond Hill Village residence lying in a pool of blood with what appeared to be a stab wound to the body. She was later pronounced dead by District Medical Officer Dr. Chandy Jacobs.
The Brownhill Communications Limited employee was at the time sharing the home with her boyfriend, Delvin Wilkinson, their one-year-old daughter and her younger sister, who is a student at the Charlestown Secondary School.
According to information reaching SKNVibes, Wilkinson had allegedly found the fully clothed, motionless body of his child’s mother lying in a pool of blood in their home. He then ran to a neighbour’s house from where the neighbour called the police and notified them of the incident.
It is also alleged that Thompson’s body bore multiple stab wounds and a cracked skull. However, this information remains unconfirmed but, according to the Head of Nevis’ Criminal Investigation Department, Inspector Andrea Mitchell, details would be released following an autopsy.
Thompson, who would have celebrated her 20th birth anniversary in December, is Nevis’ fifth homicide victim and the Federation’s 21st for the year.
