Masud Sadiki’s first calypso hits radio

Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts - It is just about two weeks since St Kitts/Nevis Reggae star Masud Sadiki, publicly announced that he will be competing in this year’s Calypso competition, during the St Kitts/Nevis National Carnival celebrations.  If anyone even for a moment doubted how serious he was when he made that statement, their ears will be in for a sweet treat tomorrow when Masud, using his Calypso name A Stitch In Time, releases his first calypso on all local radio stations.

The title of the song is “I’m Still In Love”.  It was written by Masud and produced and recorded by the famous Jazzique Chiverton of Ball-A-Karn Productions in Nevis.

Masud decided to take on the name A Stitch In Time for the calypso arena to help to bring more awareness to the United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s UNiTE To End Violence Against Women Campaign. Just recently Masud released a selfpenned song entitle A Stitch In Time to support the campaign. It is now one of the official songs that will be used to push the “UNiTE” campaign worldwide.

In his calypso, A Stitch In Time (Masud) sings passionately and unapologetically about his deep sincere love for St Kitts, the island on which he was born.  The following is a quote from “I’m Still In Love”…“Though we are going through some trying crimes, we will heal the wounds all in due time; running away never crossed my mind, from sweet little land of mine.”

Masud says: “Anyone can say they love someone when things are going really well, but it is when things get rocky or rough....that’s when a relationship gets tested for that real unconditional love that we all wish to experience.”

Masud Sadiki will be making his first public appearance as A Stitch In Time on Sunday, 7th November 2010, at Beaumont Park at 4pm.  He will be performing as a member of The Legends Tent.

    Intro
OH Liamigua,  Oh Liamigua, what you say?
Look How a love up me country, look how a love up me country
Look how a love up me country and this is my land of beauty

    1
First Time I met you way back in 74, I knew I’d found my true love
You’ve fed and nurtured me as a little boy, now as a man I am standing tall
Now we’re going through some trying crimes, We will heal the wounds all in due time
Running away never crossed my mind, From this sweet little land of mine
    Together we have moved mountains
    We’ve weathered the storms
My love for you’ll never fade, to stand for you me no fraid
No matter what people say you sweeter than cane

    CHORUS
I’m still in love with you, I’m still in love with you
I am still in love with you,  St Kitts you’re my Sugar boo
I’m still in love with you , I’m still in love with you
I am still in love with you St Kitts you’re my sugar loo
    2
If Red and Yellow could truly understand, only love can fix this one
Love for nation should never be conditional, Country above self is so vital
With every tear and every smile, I’ll be with you 68 scare miles
Though we aint got diamonds and we aint got oil
I aint singing this for style
Together we’ll move more mountains, we’ll prepare for the storms
My love for you’ll never fade, to stand for you me no fraid
No matter what people say you sweeter than cane

    CHORUS
    3
Only when wind blow you see foul bottom, these rough times come to test our love
Right from the start to you I made my vow, and I would never ever let your down
My love is patient my love is kind, squeezing through tight financial times
Often challenging to keep on de lights, lets kiss and make things right
Together we can move mountains, We’ll weather the storms
My love for you’ll never fade, to stand for you me no fraid
Oh land of beauty my girl you sweeter than cane

    CHORUS

I know in the past some treated you like old scum, rest assured the real man come
To lift you high way up just where you belong, I just couldn’t wait to sing this song
You are so powerful and you’re so great, to help you shine I won’t hesitate
Lets renew our vows and set things straight, step in the light and keep the faith
    Keep the faith
    Chorus
Love up you country, Have some pride for you country
Love up you country, you better hug up you country
Kiss up you country, look out for you country
Love upyou country, a me say buildup you country…….
