He also noted that reading was very important to the development of young people and extended commendations to the principal and staff of the school "for not only initiating and developing this programme but also maintaining the interest of the children throughout the year".
Meanwhile, the first ever Lenora Ventour-Corbie Award was presented to Ms Austine Liburd, also a Grade Six student who emerged as winner of the "Spelling B Competition" that was held throughout the year.
This award was the brainchild of Mrs Lenora Ventour-Corbie, Country Manager of RBTT Bank. She explained that she was a "crack shot" at spelling during her primary school days and having learnt of the school's competition, decided to get involved.
~~Adz:Left~~"I have donated an award in my name to the Spelling B first place winner," she noted. "I hope to keep this for a few years going and it is my great honour to present the first Lenora C Ventour-Corbie Award to Austine Liburd."
