BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DE PROVOKER, First Runner-up in last year’s Best Of The Rest Competition with his ever popular ‘Saucepan’ song, is back with another banger titled ‘Plant post in dey’.
According to the witty calysonian, he tries to pen songs that would make people laugh but, at the same time, not make them too witty and out of order.
‘Plant post in dey’ was released Friday last (Nov. 5) and has so far becoming quite catchy and well-talked about.
He said the song is fictional and refers to a lady who asked him to erect a fence on her yard.
“She say the holes dig already; so when I come just plant post in ‘dey’. She say there is a hole in the backyard; when I see that one just pass it straight, don’t plant no post in ‘dey’,” he explained.
De Provoker said although he normally participates in the calypso tents, his main focus is the Best Of The Rest Competition. He told SKNVibes PEP that he has another song penned for the Soca Monarch Competition but is uncertain about competing.
He will be singing with the Proud Sounds Calypso Tent.
