UK, 10 November 2010: The new look St. Kitts-Nevis Stand, featuring a colourful sail-boat as its centre-piece and traditional Caribbean beach bar was the focus for the official launch of the St. Kitts and Nevis Kids r VIPs programme at the 2010 World Travel Market.
Displays on the new stand including the WTM Preview of the Kids r VIPs booklet, together with attractive posters and Kids r VIPs T-Shirts created a substantial amount of interest from the majority of visitors who passed by or visited the St. Kitts-Nevis Stand. The Kids r VIPs booklet, due to be expanded and made available for UK trade and consumers in January 2011, offers an insight in to the range of activities available for families in both islands, together with prices and age ranges. Intended to be as interactive as possible, the booklet will act as a passport, allowing kids to record and ‘stamp’ their accomplishments.
The new Kids r VIPs programme offers many new experiences for families coming to St. Kitts and Nevis in 2011. Through partnerships with activity companies and hoteliers throughout St. Kitts and Nevis, Kids r VIPS will offer children on holiday and living on the islands a chance to get active, learn a new sport or hobby or just have fun during the summer.
Rosecita Jeffers, CEO, St Kitts Tourism Authority , said “we are delighted at the interest shown in Kids r VIPs from the UK travel trade. The programme will enhance the tourism product significantly while addressing the needs of many UK visitors looking for family focussed holiday destinations. We are confident that the new programme will bring more families to St. Kitts.”
Kids r VIPs will offer visitors to St. Kitts and Nevis, popular activities including sailing courses for the entire family, zip-lining with Sky Safari, tours and hikes, as well as brand new activities that will allow children to immerse themselves into the culture and entertainment that the islands have to offer. For example, families can learn something uniquely Caribbean from batik or pottery making to steel pan playing, masquerade dancing and even a chance to learn the art of Caribbean cuisine. Kids will also have an opportunity to discover all forms of wildlife and historic artefacts as they tour the islands as well as do their bit for marine conservation with the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network.
To make Kids r VIPs even more special, hotels and restaurants across St. Kitts and Nevis are offering a range of discounts and free child offers during the year.
