BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE young man, who was reportedly shot on Friday evening (Nov. 5) in Upper Cayon, is said to be still in serious but stable condition at the JNF Hospital.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Vaughan Henderson, at about 7:15 p.m. on Friday officers at the Cayon Police Station received reports of a shooting at Sarah Bowry in Upper Cayon.

“The officers responded and they summoned the EMS. On arrival at the scene, enquiries revealed that Alston Estridge (23) of Upper Cayon was shot just below his chest and was transported to the JNF Hospital in a private vehicle shortly before the medical services arrived.

“The scene was processed by officers of the Crime Scene Department and items of evidential value were collected for further analysis. However, no suspect is in custody but investigations are ongoing,” Henderson said.

The Inspector further informed that Estridge is currently warded at the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Estridge had breathing problems and is now on a respirator. And this media house learnt that he was in a house with some friends when the shooting occurred.
