Hot Rod wants ‘Pork for dinner’

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE reigning Best of the Rest King, Hot Rod, popularly known as ‘Turkey Killer’, is working hard at maintaining his crown as his 2010 release is currently one of the most talked about and one of the most played on the local airwaves.

Hot Rod, who was born Jamal Butler, released his ‘Pork for dinner’ song late last month on a number of radio stations in the Federation.

He hopes to compete in the Best of the Rest and the Soca Monarch Competitions with the new track, which speaks of a man who loves to eat pork. He strongly believes that this song could make him retain the crown.

“I just felt like I should come up with a different topic that will make everybody feel happy,” was the singer’s response to what gave him the idea for ‘Pork for dinner’.

Butler went on to say that “everybody is saying that they never expect me to come back with something so hot”.

He also released another song titled ‘Seed Planter’, which he said speaks about planting crops.

“Some people have land and can’t afford to build a house, so they decide to plant crops to make the finance,” he added.

Butler also informed that sometime after Thursday, November 25, he would have T-shirts on sale with the words “Eating Pork” superimposed on them.

The Best of the Rest King took the title last year with ‘Peep-P’. He will be performing with the Legends Calypso Tent.
