Much-anticipated return of Caribbean favourite brings fresh surprises in time for the festive season, and beyond

Charlestown, Nevis - Four Seasons Resort Nevis is back on the map this winter, in time for the holiday season, and its 20th anniversary this February.  After a two year closure due to hurricane damage, the Resort has taken the opportunity to create wonderful experiences for returning guests and first-timers alike.  With a warm Nevisian welcome from close to 700 staff, the Resort will again offer families, couples, golfers, spa enthusiasts, gourmands and nature lovers a host of unforgettable vacation experiences.

Sweet Spa - Succulent papaya, honey and sugar cane, fragrant rum and coconut – expected on dessert and drinks menus in the islands, but what about on the body?  At the award-winning Spa at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, indigenous ingredients are incorporated in a range of soothing and beautifying massages, body treatments and facials, including the popular Rum Tonic treatment and Papaya Hot Stone massage, and the new Golden Sugar Skin Buff using natural island ingredients, and the Island Hopper Massage, combing Swedish, deep tissue and reflexology techniques. Whether enjoyed in one of the colonial-style gingerbread treatment cottages, or in one’s own room or villa, indulging in a spa treatment is a highlight of any vacation.  

Leading the team of highly trained and skilled spa therapists is Spa Director Nancy Mitchell, newly arrived from the acclaimed Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas – watch for tempting new additions to the menu as she adds her own personal touch to the spa experience at Four Seasons Resort Nevis. 

Golfer’s Paradise – Players know that in addition to the Rules of Golf, respecting local laws and traditions are part of the game.  In Nevis, swearing is strictly prohibited – as special challenge for many a golfer who has faced the 600-yard signature #15 hole on the Resort’s Robert Trent Jones II course.  To the rescue is Golf Pro Bruce Wilson, who reminds guests that the long downhill fairway actually plays a bit shorter than most par 5s, making a birdie – and bragging rights – distinct possibilities.  Just before the Resort closed, Condé Nast Traveler ranked it the #1 Golf Resort in the Caribbean, and after two years’ rest, the course is set to play better than ever.

New Sailing School – Already offering an abundance of water sports, Four Seasons Resort Nevis now invites guests of all ages to participate in its new on-site Sail Laser program.  Affiliated with Laser Performance, the largest producer of sailing dinghies in the world, the fleet includes a range of boats, and offers a diploma upon completion of a six-hour training program.

More beach news:  four all-new 200 square foot beach cabanas will offer furnished private Oceanside retreats, complete with complimentary mini-bar, entertainment system, board games and magazines.  Four Seasons staff are always on hand to offer snacks, sunscreen, and beach toys.

Dive and Dine - Back by popular demand, the Dive and Dine program pairs adventurous chefs and guests who have dive certification in pursuit of the freshest seafood possible – what you actually catch yourself.  Leading the expedition, and the kitchen team, is newly appointed Executive Chef Andreas Donnerbauer, a veteran of the program who returns to Nevis after stints in Maui and Australia.  Curtis Smithen returns to his native Nevis as the new Executive Sous Chef after honing his culinary skills at several other Four Seasons.  

At Mango restaurant, Caribbean charm and local island ingredients make it a favourite destination for West Indian cuisine.

And soon to be unveiled:  the new Coral Grill, specialising in perfectly grilled seafood and cuts of meat paired with sauces, rubs and sides.  An extensive selection of wines will include “fifteen to try before you die.”

The Turtles Are Doing Well - For many years, Four Seasons Resort Nevis has partnered with the Sea Turtle Conservancy (formerly the Caribbean Conservation Corporation) to save endangered sea turtles through conservation and education programs.  While the Resort has been closed, the program has continued to thrive, with tagged turtles making appearances again this season.

Soon, children can be part of the action at Kids for All Seasons once again as they learn about turtles, play games and create turtle-inspired crafts.  Upon returning home, they can continue to track their new friends online thanks to the program’s GPS tagging.
