Charlestown, Nevis - The Giant Malt sponsored Primary School Football tournament continued yesterday at the Bath Village playing field.
The Joycelyn Liburd Primary School engaged the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary school in both divisions.
In the first match, a B division fixture, the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary totally dominated to come away victors with a score line of 3 goals to nil.
The star of the show was the Elizabeth Pemberton’s MVP Anthony Silvera who scored two emphatic goals. Kayode Williams converted the other goal.
The MVP for the JLP team was Keju Claxton.
In the A division match up between the same two schools, the Joycelyn Liburd Primary seemed well on the way to victory, compliments of a stinging right booter from Tajarie Arthurton. However, with moments to go in the game, Stephon Collison, not to be outdone, rammed in an equalizer of his own.
This sent the Teachers present and the EP cheer leading crew, all onto the field of play in wild celebrations. Thereafter, there were constant shouts of ‘defence, defence’, as the seconds ticked away on the referee’s clock.
When Referee Kimbell Ward blew the final whistle, the score was tied 1 goal all. The game resulting in an honourable draw.
The MVP for the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary was Stephon Collison and the MVP for the Joycelyn Liburd Primary was Tajarie Arthurton.
Matches continue at the same venue today at 1 pm.
