    Basseterre, St. Kitts - The Executive Committee of Constituency Seven Branch of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has announced a full week of activities to commemorate the 17th Anniversary of the service of Dr the Hon Timothy Harris as the Member of Parliament for this constituency in the National Assembly of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. The Week of Activities will run from Sunday 21st until Sunday 28th November 2010.

     

    Dr Harris, who presently holds ministerial responsibility in Government for the portfolios of International Trade, Industry, Commerce, Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Marine Resources, Cooperatives and Constituency Empowerment, was first elected to the National Assembly on November 29th, 1993, at the age of 28 years.

     

    It was the wonderful people of Constituency Seven, which is composed of: Belle Vue; Tabernacle; Mansion; Molyneux; Bourryeau; Lodge Village; Lodge Project; and Ottleys, who recognized the virtues of commitment, loyalty, dedication and love that Dr Harris exuded for their causes then, and which he has manifold times amplified over these seventeen years. 

     

    Accordingly the voters have resoundingly re-elected Dr Harris, now Senior Minister, at all four elections since then, by even greater and impressive victory margins – the most recent occasion being 25th January 2010. 

     

    Dr Harris has served the country in various capacities since 1995.  He has served as Minister of Agriculture from 1995-2000; Minister of Education, Labour and Social Security 2000-2001; Minister of Foreign Affairs 2001-2004; Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs 2004-2008; Minister of Finance, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs 2008-2010.  He has also been serving as the Chairman of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party since 1997.

     

    Events planned for the Week of Activities marking the 17th anniversary of Dr Timothy Harris’ Service as Member of Parliament for constituency seven include:

     

    v  Sunday 21st Nov. 2010 – Divine Worship at Wesleyan Holiness Church, Molyneux at 9.00 A M -Visit to Patients at the J N France General Hospital commencing at 4.00 PM

     

    v  Monday 22nd Nov. 2010 – Honouring of the Elderly living in the Constituency

     

    v  Tuesday 23rd Nov. 2010 - 7th annual Help A Child Programme awards at Estridge Primary    School at 9.30 AM

     

    v  Wednesday 24th Nov. 2010 – Sick and Shut-In Visitation at Mary Charles Hospital and the Grange starting at 8.30 AM

     

    v  Thursday 25th Nov. 2010 – Town Hall Meeting at the Edgar T. Morris Primary School

     

    v  Friday 26th Nov. 2010 – Night Out at Black Rocks starting at 6.00 PM and featuring Karaoke

     

    v  Saturday 27th Nov. 2010 – Health Walk from Belle Vue to Ottleys beginning at 5.30 AM-Basketball and Netball Knock Out Competitions at Molyneux Hard              Court commencing at 6.00 PM

     

    v  Sunday 28th Nov. 2010 – Beach Nic at Cockleshell Bay starting at 1.30 PM
