Press Release

Charlestown, Nevis - In what was a quiet but rather significant ceremony, TDC once again, served up another ACE as it awarded trophies and prizes to the Winners and Runners Up of the TDC 2010 - Nevis Men’s Open, Doubles Tennis Tournament.  Aquavita Water was also a Co-sponsor providing water for the entire Tourney.

The Prize Giving Ceremony was held at the Charlestown Tennis Courts on Sunday November 14th, at 7:00 pm, with Players, Spectators, and TDC Representatives in attendance.  After two weeks of Tennis, Mr. Andre Theron and Mr. Wayne Tyson were able to edge out Mr. Anthony Webbe and Mr. Ernie France, in a Best-of-Three Sets Finals, with a score line of 6-4, 6-3.

Mr. Warren Moving, Chief Accountant at TDC was present to hand over the Spoils to the Winners.  In giving comments, Mr Moving affirmed that in TDC’s opinion, “all the Competitors are Winners,” as they continue to contribute to the advancement of Tennis in Nevis.  He went on to add that,  “now, in its third year, the Tournament serves as a forum for socializing, entertainment, enhancing camaraderie, while polishing players’ volleys, overheads, serves, and passing shots.  Thus, TDC is proud to be affiliated with the Competition and looks forward to partnering with the Organizers in the Future.”

The next Event on this year’s Tennis Calendar is the Open Mixed Doubles, which is slated for the first week in December.
