Belle Vue on top of Second division table

Coach Willet instructs CPS team
Press Release

Charlestown, Nevis - It seemed as if the entire Belle Vue international Primary school was present at the Bath Village playing field yesterday as their school team engaged Ivor Walters in a B division fixture of the Giant Malt sponsored Primary School Football league.

The school cheer leaders led by Headmistress Wilkerson and the other Teachers, cheered every pass, every save by their little goal keeper and every block by their defense team.  The shouts that reverberated across Bath Village when they scored the two goals, were deafening.

Wasim Richardson again was the star of the show but he was assisted in a big way by his main defensive backs—one of them a female and his pint sized goal keeper who demonstrated that they knew what the country’s motto ‘country above self’ really meant.

Ivor Walters Primary managed a consolation goal in the dying moments of the game, compliments of a penalty which went whistling past the goalkeeper like a rocket, from the boot of Oshay Wells.

The final score: Belle Vue 2 Ivor Walters 1
The MVP for Belle Vue was Wasim Richardson who scored the two goals and for Ivor Walters, the MVP was Jermaine Bowrin.

In another B division fixture, St.Thomas’ defeated Charlestown Primary 2 goals to 1.  Romario Daniel and Dequan Moven scored for St.Thomas’ and MVP Deja Myers was the goal scorer for Charlestown Primary. The MVP for St.Thomas’ was Devaun Jeffers.

In an A division fixture, Ivor Walters and St.James’ drew one goal all in an exciting contest. MVP Javel Boyles was the goal scorer for Ivor Walters, while Oreon Browne struck the back of the net for St.James’.  The MVP for St.James’ was Tahj Liburd.

In the other A division fixture, St.Thomas; defeated last year’s champs, Charlestown Primary, 2 goals to nil. Chevaughn Jeffers and Dwyer Dore were the goal scorers but the fleet footed Marcus Duberry was awarded as MVP.  For the Charlestown Primary, Jamie Chapman was awarded as MVP.

Matches continue at the same venue today at 1 pm.
