BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CUSTOMERS of telecommunications giant Digicel will have an opportunity to win a brand new Suzuki Swift, following the company’s Christmas promotion launch yesterday (Nov. 20) at the Rum Barrel, located at Port Zante.
Under the theme ‘Drive Your Dream’, the launch attracted a very large crowd from around 5:00 p.m. to listen to how they can win the new car along with other weekly prizes.
They were told that one is eligible to win any of the prizes should one top up $15 or more on one’s handset, subscribe to any prepaid call or text plan, sign up for any post paid plan and pay one’s bill in full on time.
According to Marketing Executive Genieve Hanley, one of the things of importance to the Digicel is giving back to customers that have made the company what it is today.
“What we wanted to do was something that involved people. Bring people together, start the Christmas season off on a good note, as you know togetherness, festivity and positivity are some of what Christmas is all about, and we wanted them to see live and direct what we had in store for them,” she told SKNVibes.
Hanley said the “Suzuki swift is up for grabs for customers who do things that they normally do every day, which is topping up and subscribing to new plans”, and that everyone could get a chance to win.
“It’s going to be a random draw, and apart from that the weekly prizes are very relevant for the season - vouchers for gas, groceries, gifts, lots of different things - and that’s what we want to make sure…everybody is covered and everybody has something this Christmas,” she said.
Persons who attended the event were treated to free giveaways, top ups, free food and drinks and also chances to win prizes from the two sponsored Digicel J’Ouvert troupes, Mudsunami and Red Devils.
“We have a lot of our partners here, a lot of people that we have partnered with throughout the year. Heineken is here and they are giving special giveaways to anyone who patronises them. We have our carnival J’Ouvert troupes that we’re sponsoring…Mudsunami and Red Devils with their models,” she said.
Hanley also said that after being impressed with the success of the launch, Nagico Insurances informed the company that it would be giving one year’s free insurance to the winner of the car.
“So this is how exciting the promotion is,” she added.
The promotion will end on January 21, 2011 and the draw will take place on Friday, January 29.
The launch was hosted by Juni Liburd and DJ Rucus while musical entertainment was provided by Chalice Sounds.
“We have competitions going on, free food and free drinks. That’s what our brand is about; it’s about being fun, lively and keeping up to date,” said the Marketing Executive.
