By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE second annual Clash of the High Schools Song and Dance Competition is back on track after being postponed several weeks ago due to unfavourable weather conditions. The competition will be staged at Carnival Village from 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27.

Seven High Schools in St. Kitts will be competing for a cash prize of EC$1 500 along with a trophy and other prizes as well as bragging rights for one year.

The schools that will be seeking to overthrow defending champion Washington Archibald High are Basseterre High School, The Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Saddlers Secondary School, Verchilds High School, Cayon High School and the Charles E Mills Secondary School.

According to Cheddi Bradshaw of Island Soul Entertainment, popular sound TNO would kick off the entertainment prior to the opening number that would feature the reigning champion and the Sugar Mas 2010/2011 National Talented Teen contestants.

He said that fans have been crying out for the event’s new date since its postponement in October, and that the anticipation has only been growing stronger.

The highly-anticipated event will feature performances by Infamus, Rolhensha, Dymanyzd and Vito, along with the Clash of the High School’s Mascot Bubbles.
