The weather held sufficiently to allow matches in the Malcolm Guishard Basketball league to continue last evening at the Church Ground Basketball court.
The tournament has been badly affected by persistent showers throughout last weekend and into Monday night. Heavy rains yesterday afternoon did not send encouraging signals to the organizers but last evening, the weather remained fair.
In match one, home town boys CG Massives swamped the Gingerland Secondary School boys sixty to fifteen.
For the CG Massives Kirtney Esdaille scored 19 points and 12 rebounds; Lester Liburd 12 points; 5 rebounds and 5 assists; Warren Bussue 7 points and 9 assists.
For GSS O. Norris 13 points; 10 rebounds and 1 assist and S. Hanley scored 2 points; 12 rebounds and 1 assist.
In game two, PJ’s defeated Ghetto Starz forty-six to thirty-six.
For PJ’s Everson Webbe scored 21 points; 10 rebounds and 1 assist; Carvin Smith 12 points; 9 rebounds; 1 assist; Wayne Jeffers 2 points; 12 rebounds; 8 assists.
For the Ghetto Starz, Matthew Hardi was the stand out player.
The rained out game between champions CG Rebels and new comers High Voltage is expected to be played sometime this week and the regularly scheduled games are set to continue this coming weekend.
