    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 4TH 2006 -
St. Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Tuesday celebrated the 11th Anniversary of his appointment as Prime Minister of the twin-island Federation.

Although no official event was planned, the St. Kitts and Nevis leader began the day by hosting the CARICOM Community's First Heads of Government Prayer Breakfast, which took place at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

"I am honoured to host this Prayer Breakfast, for I believe it is appropriate that we gather as leaders to pray. First, as leaders, we need God's guidance, his compass, to keep us on course personally, that we would walk with integrity; we need God's heart of concern, caring and compassion to do what is best for all; we also need God's spirit of grace and mutual respect to move our united efforts forward in goodwill and finally, we want to seek first, God's Kingdom and humble ourselves in prayer, putting aside notions of self-interest, so we might pursue the common good with His help,"

said Prime Minister Douglas in remarks, adding: "That is the spirit in which we gather today. I desire this for myself and I wish it for all of us as leaders. I desire it for all our people of the Caribbean Community and our CARICOM meetings."
