C-Money changes plans about entering calypso arena

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – EARLY in October SKNVibes PEP posted an article headlined ‘C-Money to hit calypso arena’. However, the young Sandy Point songbird has had a change of plans and will not be participating in the 2010 calypso arena.

In a brief interview with the 25-year-old, C-Money said he would like to use this opportunity to apologise to his fans for not being able to participate in the 2010 calypso eliminations due to a number of issues. He however added that he is still looking forward to doing so in the future.

Nevertheless, C-Money would still be taking part in the 2010 Sugar Mas Carnival festivities, as he would be entering the Soca Monarch Competition with his much talked about new release Soca version of ‘SK Sweet’, titled ‘Carnival Sweet’.

C-Money told this media house that the song, which was produced by Young J of Mo-Money Entertainment, was supposed to be remixed since last year but there were setbacks at that time.

“I guess I chose the perfect time to release the track, because the response from the public has been wonderful and lots of people have already been saying it is one the best songs for the carnival season so far. And because of the responses, I decided to register for the Soca Monarch Competition,” he said.

He further stated that one popular radio DJ said that carnival already had a hype but the song raised it to a higher level.

“Fans that listen to the song on Facebook keep saying that they are now feeling the carnival vibes. The song is blowing up fast and getting popular real quick,” C-Money added.

‘Carnival Sweet’ was recorded at Yard Tune Production Studios in Cayon and features Rucas of the Grand Masters Band.

The original version of ‘SK Sweet’ has grown quite popular locally and internationally and is referred to as one of the hottest anthems out of the Federation.
