Coach Adelvin Phillip and the supporting Teachers and students at the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary school, jumped and screamed in jubilation when the final whistle was blown on Friday afternoon—twenty-sixth November. It meant that their school team had effectively sealed the issue to determine the B division champions for 2010 in the Giant Malt sponsored Primary school Football league.
The EP team went ahead when they scored the first goal but then the Ivor Walters School equalized via the penalty route. Coach Phillip in a post match interview admitted that he was really uneasy as the minutes ticked away and the score was still tied 1-all.
However, MVP Anthony Silvera found a little breathing space on the right wing and pivoted on the angle and slammed the ball powerfully into the back of the net—a super goal. With just moments to go before the conclusion of the game, they added another for good measure.
Final score: Elizabeth Pemberton 3 Ivor Walters 1. Elizabeth Pemberton Primary, the B division champions for 2010.
The goal scorer for the Ivor Walters team was MVP Oshay Wells and for the EP team: MVP Anthony Silvera; Rohan Arthurton and Kayode Wilkin.
