A brief ceremony was held at about six pm on the evening of Saturday 27th November to officially signal the start of the 2010/2011 senior Football league on Nevis.
Newly elected Football chief on Nevis, Colin Walwyn, apologized for the late start and pledged his Association’s intent to take Football to a higher level on the island.
Brief words were also delivered by a representative from the St.Kitts-Nevis Association and Minister of Sports, Hon. Hensley Daniel who admonished the players to play hard but fair, officially declared the league open.
Thereafter, the several of the registered teams took part in a knockout competition.
Villa Int and Bath United were the two teams making it into the finals. At the end of regulation time, the score was tied 2 goals –all. At the end of the five extra minutes per half time period, the scores remained tied at 2-all.
This forced a penalty kick off situation to determine the winner.
Ruvidson Morton hit the left upright for Bath with his first attempt, while Villa converted. Dale Farrell for Bath could only find the safe hands of the goalie and Villa Int followed suit to also kick the ball to the goalie.
Bath United then proceeded to convert one but Villa Int responded with two more of their own. Three goals to one in favour of Villa Int and an overall score line of 5 goals to 3.
It is understood that the Villa team will be presented with their winning trophy this coming Thursday, the same afternoon set for the draw for the Legends cup which is set to take place this coming weekend.

Villa United defeated Highlights 3 goals to nil
Bath United defeated Combined Schools four goals to two-on penalties.
On the evening of Sunday 28th November, the Nevis Under 23 team defeated non nationals four goals to two. For the under 23 team, Ruvidson Morton scored two goals; Al J scored one and Shaheed Tyson one. For the non nationals, Kester Evans scored the two goals.
