Netball Business league ends on disappointing note

Press Release

There was an air of sourness at the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex on the evening of Saturday 27th November as what was actually a very exciting Business Netball league, concluded in anticlimactic fashion.

Much was anticipated in this the second game of the best of three finals as First Caribbean Bank from all reports was all set to tie up the series 1-all as they faced off with the Four Seasons Estates team who had won the first game. There was much talk about the addition to the Bank’s team of two top players from St.Kitts to bolster their line up, but not only did the players not show up but only five members of the Bank’s team were ready to start the game when the starting whistle was blown.

The Four Seasons Estates team ran rings around the First Caribbean team and in the second quarter they were leading by a huge margin of 17 to 3.  The five players on court ‘threw in the towel and literally called off the game.

President of the Nevis Netball Association Jeannette Grell Hull expressed disappointment at the manner in which the tournament ended but was high in praise for the Four Seasons Estates team as she handed over the impressive trophy to Jasmine Charles, Captain of the winning team.

Charles for her part, praised her teammates for their hard work and noted that it felt really good to be in the winners circle.
