BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 29TH 2010 (CUOPM) – The parade of cruise ships to St. Kitts continued Monday with the arrival of the Celebrity Summit with nearly 2,100 passengers.
The 2,038-passenger Summitt is the second of 14 cruise ships that will visit St. Kitts this week with an estimated 22,000 passengers.
The Summit arrived from St. Croix with 2,093 passengers and a crew of 940 and will depart early Monday evening for Roseau, Dominica.
Most of the passengers came ashore and went sight-seeing via the Scenic Railway, taxis and tour busses; sun and sea bathing, sailing, snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking and shopping.
On Sunday, the 540-passenger capacity, Silver Spirit arrived with 483 passengers and a crew of 373 from Antigua and departed Sunday evening for Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.
Three cruise ships – the 2,850- passenger capacity Celebrity Equinox, the 756-passenger Discovery and the 308-passenger capacity Wind surf arrive in Tuesday.
Four cruise ships visit on Wednesday. They are the 2,600-passenger capacity Grand Princess; the 3,070-passenger capacity Emerald Princess; the 729-passenger capacity Braemar and the 228-passenger capacity, Royal Clipper.
The 2,124-passenger capacity Carnival Miracle docks at Port Zante on Thursday; 3,050-passenger capacity Carnival Victory on Friday and the 3,114-passenger capacity Explorer of the Seas, the 694-passenger capacity Azamara Journey and the 450-passenger capacity Seabourn Sojourn visit on Saturday.
The fourteen cruise ships have an estimated 22,551 passengers.
