Clarks vs. Nike Affair tomorrow at TDC Grounds

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BRUSH off those Clarks and dust off those Nikes because tomorrow (Dec. 4) the TDC Grounds is the place to be for the first ever Clarks vs. Nike Affair.

The event is a collaborated effort by Tonic and Ace Promotions and will see musical entertainment by DJ Yardy, Chalice Sounds, Sweet Sister Sensia and the Nu Vybes Band International.

Apart from the musical atmosphere, there will be lots of exciting giveaways throughout the night. Any female can win herself a pair of Clarks and a Blackberry phone by testing her DJ skills and mixing down three tracks.

According to Michelle Stokes of Tonic Promotions, “It’s basically a way of having fun and bringing out the females, because I am a female DJ and I love what I do. I know there are a lot of females out there who want to do this but don’t get the chance. So this is their opportunity to come out and do what they got to do and win prizes while doing it.”

She added, “Don’t feel discouraged if you don’t have a pair of Clarks or Nike…just wear what you have. The Nike and the Clarks idea is really about the mixing down and Athletes Foot are the main sponsors. Therefore, I wanted to make sure my sponsor stands out, but it’s all about wearing what you have.”

The excitement does not end there. Two boxes of pizza and a cell phone will be up for grabs for the most creative Nike or Clarks.

The Tonic Promoter said, “Creative can be anything that looks good and catchy, even if you mix and match or take an old pair and fix them up with shoe strings and paint them. You can even take a pair of shoes and make a Nike sign look realistic. Just be creative.”

Stokes said Tonic Promotions is about having exciting, peaceful events that could bring out everyone to have a time of their life.

Tickets for this event are available at Tony Berry, Plush, Michael Heliger Jewelers and Athletes Foot for only EC$20 or pay EC$30 at the gate.
