Two firearm and ammo cases dismissed

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOUR individuals on two separate and unrelated charges of possession of firearm and ammunition escaped prison sentences and monetary fines on the grounds of no case submissions.

Inebo Hendrickson of East Street, Newtown and Kimba Godwin of New Road appeared yesterday (Dec. 6) before Her Worship Simone Bullen-Thompson at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court charged with possession of a .45 Pistol and a .357 Pistol and also possession of 24 rounds of ammunition, which included four that are compatible with a .357 Pistol.

The offences were allegedly committed on June 6, 2010.

Led by Dr. Henry Stugumber Browne, the two men’s defence counsels filed no case submissions, which were upheld by the court. Both matters were dismissed.

They were also charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply. This case was also dismissed but not before they were convicted and cautioned by the magistrate.

In an unrelated case, Esroy ‘Heads’ Mills and Sharon DaCosta, both of River Ghaut, Upper Cayon, appeared yesterday in the same court.

They were jointly charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a quantity of ammunition, allegedly committed on April 30, 2010.

This matter was also dismissed following a no case submission by their counsel, Jason Hamilton, which was upheld by the court.
