Toddlers to undergo eye surgery in Philadelphia

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 9TH 2010 (CUOPM) – Two toddlers and their mothers left here Wednesday for medical attention at the Wills Eye Surgery in Philadelphia, in the United States.
     

     

    Eighteen-month-old Stevencia Boynes, who suffered severe trauma to her left eye by a Rottweiler in December of last year and one-year-old Mia Romney, who was born prematurely and cannot see, will get the necessary corrective surgery.

     

     
    Stevenia was accompanied by her mother, Marsha Boynes of Old Road and Mai, her mother, Camille Romney of Molineux.

     

     
    Both mothers and their children were seen off at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Minister of Social Services and Community Development, Hon. Marcella Liburd.
