If the action in the Legends cup is anything to go by, the local Football season on Nevis this year is going to be one filled with excitement.
In the feature match played on the evening of Saturday 11th December, Brand Slybo Stoney Grove Strikers engaged arch rivals Bath United. At half time, the score was nil-all with both teams pretty much matching each other on the field of play. However, very early in the second half, Stoney Grove struck with a super finish from close range. Two minutes later, Delvon Clarke got into his own with a super bomber of his own.
What looked like some obvious pushing within the box then resulted in a penalty for the Bath United team. Just minutes before as some of the players had their heads drooped, mid fielder Carlos called out: “It’s not over yet”. He skilfully deposited the penalty kick into the back of the net and suddenly there was hope in the Bath United Camp.
Bath United managed to sink an equalizer before the final whistle was blown. The final score 2 goals-all and the crowd went home absolutely thrilled with a great evening of Football.
The final score: Bath United 2 Stoney Grove Strikers 2
