BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FROM among a field of eight contestants, Toshiorna Millington, who represented the sport discipline of cricket, was on Friday night (Dec. 10) crowned Ms. Sports Personality of the Dr William Connor Primary School.
Millington also took the awards for Best Creative Sports Wear and Best Talent with a drama and song presentation, while Ms. Golf Dalexia Hobson won the First Runner-up position and in the process captured the prize for Best Introductory Speech.
The Second Runner-up position was taken by Ms. Netball Janeska Liburd, who was also awarded Best Evening Wear, and she was followed by Ms. Volleyball Asmara Chiverton, the contestant who took the prize for Miss Photogenic.
The other contestants were Ms. Basketball Kachiqua Williams who received the Miss Amity award; Ms. Football Eurecia Foster; Ms. Track and Field T’Quani Weekes; and Ms. Tennis Shadisha Davis.
On the calypso side of the show, eight contestants took the stage and Janiah ‘Lady Niah’ Roach outshone them to take the crown. She was followed by Khalianna ‘Lady Khaly’ Desuza, Iquanja ‘Might Quanni’ Bradley and Alexia ‘De Messenger’ Hobson for the First, Second and Third Runners-up positions.
The other calypsonians were Travien ‘Singing Woodley’ Liddie, Tashorn ‘Mighty Tashorn’ Herbert, Dejon ‘Little Rick’ Carty and Shane ‘Mighty Quinn’ Clarke.
The show also featured performances by Shakki, King Konris and Lala, who all received arousing applauses from the large audience.
