Medical services on Nevis receive high praise

Press Release

The emergency medical services on Nevis (EMS) and the entire staff at the Alexandra hospital have come in for high praise from Drag Racing experts Christian Cozier and Andre Chrislow.

The two men are representatives of Pudgy Productions, the agency mandated to take Drag racing on Nevis to another level. Chrislow is the Managing Director and Cozier is the Operations Manager.

During the drag racing event held over the weekend, Anguillan Cyclist Delano Davis was involved in a major crash, resulting from causes unknown.

According to the main organizers of the event, the Nevis Disaster Management 0ffice held a simulation exercise just prior to the race meet. This would have fully prepared the emergency team for any emergencies and according to eye witness reports, the Fire services, Ambulance and EMS workers were very professional and effective in the way they dealt with the crash and the victim.

Davis was warded at the Alexandra Hospital up to last evening and the Nevisian public has also been highly complimented for their speedy response in supplying the well needed O+ blood which was needed to stabilize the patient prior to being flown out to Antigua for further treatment.  Reports indicate that his two legs were broken in the crash.

The Doctors, Nurses and the entire Hospital staff have also been praised for their professionalism and care of the patient.

Further updates on the actual meet and future events will be forthcoming once a post-mortem of the meet has been completed.
