Inception - A Dream Affair to be held December 25 at Fort Thomas Hotel

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE all-inclusive fete, dubbed ‘Inception’, is going to be the ultimate dream affair for partygoers this Carnival.

The event, which takes place on December 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the historical Fort Thomas Hotel, will feature the top bands and DJs in the Federation and region. It is being organised by a group of individuals going by the name Professional Promotions.

Professional Promotions boasts a dynamic group of professionals, including Attorneys-at- Law, an accountant/auditor, a production engineer and a paralegal, who are eager to make a contribution to the St. Kitts Carnival experience.

SKNVibes spoke with two of the group’s members, Anthony Johnson and Marsha Henderson, about the upcoming event.

“We were liming one day and decided to come up with a party to enhance Carnival. We’ve seen Carnivals outside of St. Kitts and what is lacking here is all-inclusive fetes,” Henderson said.

The promoters said in organising the event, they kept in mind the providence of an avenue for local and visiting carnival patrons to attend in a secure and tranquil environment, while “being entertained by a variety of top class musical bands, DJs and artistes and with free drinks and free breakfast at 7:00 a.m.”.

Musical entertainment for Inception will be provided by Nu Vybes, Small Axe, Grand Masters and Kollision Bands, King Konris, Shakki, Stitch in Time and Burning Flames of Antigua, while DJs for the night include Ronnie Rascal, Wet Dutt, Sister Sensia and DJ Ibis, also out of Antigua.

With a cover charge of EC$100 and EC$150 for VIP, persons can enjoy free drinks all night, including premium drinks and free food.

“We are very confident about our event based on public response. When you go to a fete you may pay $35 and have to buy drinks, you may buy drinks for friends that will cost you in paying over $200, but this is unlimited drinks for 12 hours with top entertainment,” Johnson said.

The event is all about enhancing the Carnival experience and on the grounds will be the Newtown Iron Band and Moco Jumbies, along with an avenue in place for troupes to do last minute registration.

The historical Fort Thomas Hotel, which is currently under reconstruction, will once again come alive to host this major event that will add to a memorable experience as it has done in the past with the St. Kitts Music Festival.

Henderson explained that when patrons come to Inception they would meet a Red Carpet and a backdrop for photos by Link A Link Entertainment, adding they would be given a 14-ounce mug from which to drink Inception’s signature Rum Punch or an ‘Inceptini’.

Attendees in the VIP section can go to the VIP section, where they will receive free food and free drinks, while other persons can go down to the grounds and purchase food from Balang, Shamari’s and others.

A number of bars will be established on the grounds, including a fete mobile, a shots bar, jello shots bar, premium drinks (Hennessy, Baileys, Ponche Cuba, Black Label) and more.

There will also be a local corner offering sugar cane juice, coconut water and boiled nuts, free of cost.

The organisers said there would also be Inception beds on the grounds for persons who may need to take a break from dancing and prancing.

Along with the musical entertainment there will be airbrushed models and giveaways on the night, all enhancing the Carnival event and warming everyone up for J’Ouvert.

The event will feature five dreams as themes - Sweet Dreams, Deja Vue, Beautiful Nightmare, Day Dreams and a surprise Dream will be revealed on the night.

A shuttle service will also be implemented for those attending the event, as secured parking will be done at the Dr. William Connor Primary School while VIPs will be allowed to park on or close to the grounds.

Packages are also available for corporate companies that are planning to buy a number of tickets for their employees. They will be eligible for free tickets.

Tickets are currently on sale at J’s Shop & Save, Tony Berry, B’s Enterprise and at N.R. Sales.

The sponsors for the event are Carib Breweries, Royal Beach Casino, D & R Turf Nursery Limited, LIME, Royal Logistics Limited, RAMS, O.D. Brisbane & Sons Horsfords Building Center, Freedom FM, SKNVibes, ZIZ, Party Central, Link A Link, St. Kitts Bottling Company, Travel World, National Carnival Committee, Public Works Department, Petro Caribe, Inland Revenue Department and Her Majesty’s Prison.
