BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE ‘three-peat’ Road March Champions, Grand Master Band, finally gave its diehard fans what they have been waiting for last night (Dec. 14) with the release of its 2010/20111 album on ZIZ Radio.
The album, dubbed ‘From Under De Sea’, features 80 full minutes of music, according to the band’s manager, Wingrove Hicks.
“The album has eight tracks; however, number eight is a medley of some 23 tracks,” he added.
Some of the more popular songs include the title track ‘From Under De Sea’, ‘Unstoppable’, ‘Question’ and ‘Carnival Wuk Up’.
Hicks said the album could be described as a carnival-oriented album with a carnival groove and carnival up tempo material.
The band manager also told SKNVibes PEP that the name of the album came from the mishap they encountered in July when some of the band’s instruments fell off of a truck into the sea, while they were preparing for a boat ride.
Members of the band are keyboardist and drum machine operator Raynald ‘David House’ Benjamin, Chad ‘Sucky’ Benjamn on base, vocalist Marley Norford, vocalist Casim ‘Rucas’ Pemberton, vocalist Raimon ‘Smiley’ Browne, guitarist Curtley ‘Shaboo’ Pemberton, saxophonist Aleks ‘Sax Man’ Condel, sound engineer Glenroy Hanley and drummer Oflyn ‘Ofy’ Rogers.
