LIME introduces LIME Girls for 2010 Carnival

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWELVE young women, including top local models, were given another avenue to showcase their skills and beauty after recently fitting the criteria for selection as ‘LIME Girls’.

The ‘LIME Girls’ were introduced to the general public at the Children’s Carnival Costumes Launch on Dec. 10 and will be used throughout the Carnival season and also in the New Year.

In order to be selected, the young women were screened by local businesswoman Sandra Berridge and radio personality Magic to assess their charm, public appeal and personality.
According to General Manager David Lake, the new initiative was aimed at connecting LIME with a vital segment of its customer base - the youth.

“The LIME Girls are charged with the youthful expression of the LIME brand, which is colourful and fun. They will be given latitude to suggest fun activities that they would like to put on,” he said.

The models, coming out from various local agencies, made a great impact on Bank Street as they posed for several photographs and were introduced onstage by Magic.

The young women will be a part of youthful promotions organised by LIME, where it is hope they will enhance the appeal of their offers to young people.

“The LIME Girls will be seen at LIME-sponsored functions and community events that they are involved in. LIME will be in full support of the young ladies and the communities they come from,” said the General Manager.

Berridge said if other young women feel that they are what LIME is looking for, they could contact her at 667-9777 or visit her at Allysa’s Boutique on Princes Street.

“We want to compile a group of girls on file. We picked who we thought was the best and we wouldn’t stop interviewing people. We are looking for young women with bubbly personalities, charming, attractive, generally a young woman who can present herself,” Berridge said.

The young women made an even greater impact at the launch when they rocked designs by Berridge’s daughter Natasha of Allysa’s Boutique.

She also said the young ladies had an opportunity to be on Billboards for LIME, and being a LIME Girl could open many doors of opportunity for them.

“The launch of the LIME Girls was an absolute Blast! And the reaction and reception that the girls got from the massive crowd that came out to witness this historic event was testimony to that. I would like to thank our many LIME supporters and well wishers for their enthusiastic support of this innovative initiative and to wish them a safe and enjoyable Christmas and Carnival,” said Lake.
