Press Release

Kingston, Jamaica: December 16, 2010: It’s a mobile revolution! And this revolution will be televised.

This week LIME changed the game in the Mobile space in Jamaica with the introduction of Mobile TV – the first service of its kind in Jamaica and the Caribbean and among the first in the western hemisphere.

LIME customers in Jamaica’s capital city Kingston and the neighbouring parishes of St. Andrew and St. Catherine will be the first to be able to access the service in LIME’s phased rollout.

The list of channels that will be available at launch reads like an All-Star line-up—among them CNN, ESPN, Sportsmax, NBC, Hype TV and even the Cartoon Channel for kids. More channels, including a Pay Per View (PPV) offering, will be added within the coming weeks.

In announcing the availability of the eagerly awaited offering, Chris Dehring, Chairman of LIME Jamaica said: “This is a historic moment. Many of us here in Jamaica remember exactly when TV changed from black and white to colour. We also remember exactly when LIME introduced mobile phones to Jamaica. The merger of these two technologies will also now be forever remembered as a seminal moment – when a mobile phone truly became more than just a phone.

“LIME Mobile TV provides the ultimate solution. It’s a natural twinning of two of the most ubiquitous technologies in the world, and it’s going to change the way people live and plan their time. They are going to have more flexibility as they no longer have to stay home to avoid missing their favourite program on TV.

“And if the feedback we have had since we announced in August that Mobile TV would be launched by Christmas is anything do go by, then it is obvious that customers can hardly wait for it to be available.”

Managing Director of LIME Jamaica and Cayman, Garfield Sinclair added,”In addition to all the great content that Mobile TV will offer like live football matches from the biggest leagues around the world, another of the very pleasing aspects of this development is that it has come out of a partnership between a truly Jamaican company, LIME, and a group of “home-grown” Jamaican technology experts at DC Digital, led by David Cassanova”.

LIME TV handsets will go on sale in LIME Stores on Monday, December 13 2010 with the most basic offering being a seven-day prepaid package costing J$250 for which a customer will get an excellent deal of 200 minutes talk time, plus the bonus of all the channels on LIME mobile TV for FREE during this introductory period.

Attractive packages are available to both prepaid and post-paid customers.
