BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REIGNING Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch Konris Maynard last night (Dec. 18) added another title to his name when he was crowned the first ever Beaumont Park Soca Monarch.
Performing before a large and very receptive crowd at the Warner Park Sugar Mill, the four-time National Calypso Monarch displayed his versatility to beat X-Man into second place, while Shakki and C-Money and Rucas placed third and fourth respectively.
Thirteen calypsonians, including newly-crowned Female Bacchanal Monarch Queen Anastasia, competed for the crown.
