Press Release

How often does a radio personality make an on-air call to a show promoter and place a request for a an artiste to be added to the line-up?

Well, that’s exactly what happened on Monday, December 13, 2010, during a live broadcast of Ragashanti’s show on Nationwide News Network. Raga called Isaiah Laing of Supreme Promotions Limited, the organizers of Sting, and made a case for Delus, the brother of Konshens, to be put on the annual Boxing Day show.

Ragashanti, known and respected  for his honest, in-your-face way of doing things, declared, “Laing in the many years that you have been doing Sting I have never called and asked or suggested that you add an artiste to the line-up.  But you need to add Delus to the line-up.”

Ragashanti has recently been endorsing Delus’ single Another Gal on his popular talk show, and without any prompting from the management of the artiste, made the request which has led to Delus’ Sting debut.

Raga added, “His single, Another Gal, is a hit and he is a really good artiste.  He should be on the show.”

Laing readily agreed. “I know the song, it is very popular and I would be delighted to have Delus on the show.”

Naturally, Delus is grateful for this opportunity to demonstrate exactly why he is deserving of a slot on Sting, the greatest one night reggae dancehall show on earth.
According to Delus, “Big up to Raga for his endorsement.  A him seh Delus fi Sting and the same day dem link mi.  Sting wasn’t a show we pushed for me to perform on but I am going to represent all di man dem who seh “Look Another Gal” if dem woman violate.”

Another Gal (Pleasure Riddim) was produced by Cash Flow Productions.  The riddim, which was released in early July, also features Ce’cile, Chris Martin, Darrio, Denyque, Gyptian, Khago, Konshens and others.  The single, which is available on iTunes and other digital outlets, has and continues to receive tremendous airplay throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Canada and the United States.

Sting will take place on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Jamworld Entertainment Centre in Portmore.  The line-up includes artistes such as Sizzla, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Gyptian, I-Octane, Khago, Etana, Richie Spice, Assassin, Lady Saw, Aidonia, Kiprich, Cecile and many more.  The show’s sponsors include, LIME, the official telecommunications partner, Hitz 92FM, the official Sting radio, Fame 95FM, RJR 94FM, TVJ, Wata, the official water of Sting, Kariblink Digital, Zoukie Trucking, Down Sound Records, Hype TV, Island Car Rentals, RE TV, Downsound Records, Jolly’s His and Hers, Fashionista, Mac D’s Records and many more.
