Andre Theron and Patrizia Salles completed the two-peat earlier this week, when they defeated Jorn Evic and Ernestine Rawlins to take the Nevis Mixed doubles Tennis title for the second year in a row.
In the highly competitive finals, Theron and Salles won Six to four; six to seven and six to two.
Last evening at the Stoney Grove Courts, trophies were presented to the top players in the tournament, compliments of the tournament’s sponsor, the Bank of Nova Scotia.
In presenting the trophies, Manager of the Nevis branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Mr. Charles Morton elaborated on the Bank’s commitment to community development and pledged the Bank’s continued support of similar sporting events.
President of the Nevis Amateur Tennis Association, Mr. Anthony Webbe thanked the sponsors of the tournament for their continued assistance and recommended the bank to the members of the general public. He also thanked the players and the officials for making the tournament a success.
Manager Charles Morton then presented the trophies to the winning duo and the runners up.
