Iantavian Queeley & Rolhensha Henry Win Inaugural MiyVue.com Best Radio & Television Interviews

Press Release

Basseterre, St. KITTS- Iantavian Queeley, sponsored by National Bank and Rolhensha Henry, sponsored by Kittitian Hill, have emerged as winners in the inaugural MiyVue.com Best Radio & Television Interviews that were completed here on Monday 20th December.

Both interviews, along with a number of other media  appearances, were designed to help build the confidence levels of the contestants and to give them an opportunity to get the feel of what it would be like, on the night of the competition, performing under the scrutiny of thousands, at the( Sugar Mill) Carnival City.

Though no points will be carried forward from the media interviews, the winners for both events will no doubt have a greater sense of confidence heading into the main competition. However, it would be a mistake if the contestants were to take these pre-show results, as a reason to become complacent in their approach to capture the prestigious title of Miss St. Kitts-Nevis Carnival Queen.

The winners of the interviews were decided by an official panel of judges.

The radio interview was narrowly won by Rolhensha Henry, by a half a point, amassing some 144.5 points, slightly ahead of Iantavian Queeley’s 144 points. In third position was Micheleina Charles-Hazelle with 142 points.

In the television interview, the winner was Iantavian Queeley, with 144.5 points, ahead of Michelina Charles-Hazelle with 142.5 points and Rolhensha Henry with 139.5 points.

Meanwhile, the public also was given the opportunity to cast their vote for a winner in the People’s Choice Award, when they were allowed to vote via text messaging and online. The overall winner of the People’s Choice award for the radio interview(combination of votes from the online poll and text messaging ),  was Judy Dupont, followed by Iantavian Queeley and Rolhensha Henry.

The choice of the public however, for the best television interview was Iantavian Queeley, followed by Judy Dupont and Rolhensha Henry.

The six contestants who are this year vying for the coveted title of National Carnival Queen have now completed their period of training in communication skills and interview techniques.

The program which culminated with the two judged media interviews ended on Monday 20th December, when the contestants participated in the MiyVue.com Best Television Interview, which was staged in front of a live public audience, at the Circus, Basseterre. The television interview followed the Best Radio Interview that was held on Saturday 18th December, at the studios of ZIZ Radio.

The contestants  were also recently  featured on local media systems, such as WINN FM, ZIZ Radio, INFO Channel (Nevis), Radio One, Sugar City Roc and Freedom FM, as part of their ongoing preparations for the pageant, scheduled for Tuesday 28th December, at Carnival City , Warner Park.
