BASSETERRE St.Kitts - The Social Security Board embarked upon a Christmas Cheer initiative starting on Friday 22nd December 2010 when staff as well as Board Members launched out in various communities around the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis distributing food hampers to needy elderly persons.
The packages were made up of basic food and household items valued at approximately $60.00 each. Teams were assigned to specific areas to facilitate the smooth distribution across the country.
While delivering the “We Care” packages, staff took the opportunity to render a well-known Christmas carol: “We Three Kings”; to the delight of the beneficiaries of the timely initiative.
The total cost of the project was EC$5,000.00 and ninety persons benefited from the exercise.
