Governor Waterworth sends condolences on the passing of Dr. John A. Osborne

    BRADES, Montserrat (January 6, 2011) – His Excellency the Governor Peter Waterworth has extended condolences to the family of the late Dr John A. Osborne on his passing.

     


    Dr. Osborne passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 in the United States where he had been hospitalized for some time.  Dr. Osborne was the longest serving statesman on Montserrat and was chief minister for 18 years.

     


    The governor and Mrs. Waterworth have extended their condolences to Mr. Osborne’s family. “His is a loss that will be deeply felt by his many friends in Montserrat and across the Caribbean. May he rest in peace,” the statement from Government House read.

     


    Flags will fly at half mast on the day of the former chief minister’s funeral scheduled for January 21, 2011.
