CHARLESTOWN Nevis, January 12 2011 - Not for the first time, the Nevis Bakery has stepped forward to make its contribution to the development of cricket on the island of Nevis.  The popular business establishment now in its fiftieth year is run by former local cricketer Clinton Willet and his wife Lorette Brand –Willet who is also a sports enthusiast.

This time around, the Nevis Bakery will be making significant contributions in terms of snacks for two youth matches planned for this coming Saturday 15th January at the Ramsbury grounds.

The two matches which are being played under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports promise to provide much excitement for the cricket loving public on Nevis.

Match one at 9.30 am will feature the under 13’s from the Charlestown Secondary School and their counterparts from the Gingerland Secondary School.

Match two should provide even more excitement as the under 15 players engage the under 17’s at 1 pm.

The two teams were recently released by National Coach Stuart Williams who is coordinating the games:

Under 15 team: Clydre Smithen-capt; Theron Bussue-V.capt; Saeed Williams; Ross Powell; Kamil Wilkin; Delroy Cornelius; Shelton Forbes; Colin Archibald; Hakeem Harvey; Ravi Sewdat; Trevin Nisbett; Irvawn Challenger; Kareem Parry and Aviska

Note: Philo Wallace and Ryan Ferguson will only feature in the first match played between the under 13’s

Under 17 team: Duan Webbe-capt; Lornel Dore-v.capt; Bervis Burke; Adrian Williams; Dymon Parris; Chavil Archibald; Corey Morton; Sheon Hanley; VJ Harinarine; Timothy Cumberbatch; Ronny Powell and Ray Chirumba

Williams was high in his praise for the Willets and their contribution.  “It’s always nice to see individuals and or institutions making a contribution towards the development of our youth.  Providing snacks for the two games is a significant contribution, especially during times when most businesses would indicate that times are hard”, Williams noted.
