Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 12, 2011 (SKNIS) - The first in a series of consultations organized for stakeholders in the service revealed the intention of the Human Resources Department to keep employees in tune with their working environment.
According to a Ministry spokesperson, the consultation which started on January 11 with Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Departments and other top level civil service employees is a means of ensuring that persons are familiar with new aspects of the Public Service Bill as well as to extend the opportunity to give input.
Another aspect is to ensure the proper development of the Public Service as a professional, merit based and accountable instrument for promoting good governance and better delivery of services.
The next in the series of consultations takes place on Thursday with Executive Officers, Administrative Officers and Senior Clerks at the NEMA building in Lime Kiln.
Upcoming events include a meeting of junior clerks, messengers and office attendants on January 18, Teachers on January 20 and Government Auxillary Workers on January 25 to 27.
