BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 17th 2011 – GUINNESS EVOLUTION, popularly known as Evolution Sound or the Evolution Family, in February will be celebrating 10 years in the entertainment business; a milestone that its members claim not easy to attain.

Many partygoers should know this group as it has been the featured DJs on many weekend events in St. Kitts.

The group was established by Lindelle ‘Webber’ Williams, Triscan Hensley and Veryn Phillip in February 2001 and later in that year was joined by Yusef ‘Ubal’ Connor and Trevon Lapsey, while Labo Prentice and Ian Phipps joined in 2004 and Jamie Williams in 2009.

Speaking with SKNVibes PEP, Lindelle Williams said, “The road to success was not an easy one. There were times when individual opinions and ideas clashed, but with constant support of each other and a family-like approach to the decision-making process, we held firm and continued to push on.”

“Like any group, our individual goals differed but we were able to use this to our advantage and, as a result of group members personal aspirations, the movement now has a second base in Halifax, Canada. This expansion led to the need for additional support and so the group enrolled more members and has now become more affectionately known as the Evolution Family," he added.

Williams in describing the group said their DJ’s have a unique and energetic style that has been highly requested.  He said they are capable of playing any style of music but their specialty lies in providing musical entertainment of a Caribbean flavor.

Apart from St. Kitts the group has had gigs in Nevis, Anguilla, Barbados, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Alabama, Boston, Toronto and Halifax in Canada and has played amongst some other established sound systems like Stone Love International, Bass Oddesey and Black Chiney.

Earlier this year the group added the word Guinness to their name and now goes by Guinness Evolution. A decision they said was taken after Guinness became their official sponsor.

Guinness Evolution is not just about playing music in the clubs and for concerts. They have also expanded into an entertainment company behind the sound system. Evolution Entertainment has been involved in putting together shows and concerts including: C-Money Fans Appreciation Bash three day affair, Wifey vs Matey part one and two a collaborated effort with Tonic Promotions, the first ever Best of the Best Show which was a success, the annual Safe Sex block party on Princes Street held during the carnival celebrations and their Annual Birthday Bash.

In regards to their plans for their 10th Anniversary celebration, Williams said people can expect a wow. “Each year we try to go bigger and better and last year we set the bar really high after our 9th anniversary bash, the feedback was positive so this year we already have a number of ideas that will definitely take this event to the next level. It’s all about entertainment and enjoyment for our fans and well wishers so our main focus in planning this event is to cater for the people.”

The group will be hosting two parties to ring in their anniversary. The first one being held in Nevis on January 28 at Club Da Ja Vu while the second one would be held in St. Kitts on February 5.

Williams said turning 10 is an important milestone for them, as it is a great feeling to look back on something that started from scratch and see the success it has achieved. “It feels like yesterday when we all came together with big dreams and aspirations and through God's grace and the support of all our fans we were able to still be here 10 years after,” he expressed.

“We started with a simple motto that guided us to this day ‘From Friends to a Family... From a Dream to a Reality, Evolution Sounds It’s not just a Sound, It’s a Movement’" Williams said.

Both their anniversary parties this year would be filled with give-a-ways surrounding the number 10.
