    Cable & Wireless bMobile launched its newest program CONECT on July 19, 2006 at the Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI).
     
    Present at the launching were Lensworth Rogers, senior education officer within the Ministry of Education, CEO of Cable & Wireless, Pat Walters and Vice President Corporate Communications and Marketing Laverne Caines.
     
    Lester Hanley vice president within the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletic Association was also present, Masud Sadiki one of the spokes person for Cable & Wireless and the lead spokesman for the CONECT program. Duran Joseph the coordinator of the CONECT launch and Alfonzo Bridgewater, president of the National Olympic Committee along with members of the media and special invited guess.
     
    The CONECT program was described as a sport oriented program that is designed to help most of the schools in the federation. It will assist in developing the tools and to equip the schools with the necessary gears needed to take the various discipline to the next level.
     
    Hanley thanked Cable & Wireless for their latest community program which focuses on youth and its extension to family.
     
    "It is a program that the St. Kitts - Nevis Amateur Athletic Association welcomes at this time, it's a program we endorse and we give our support to Cable & Wireless and the bMobile family and thank them for this investment," he said.

    Presently some of the high schools that would benefit from this program are government High schools including the Washington Archibald high, Basseterre Senior high, Verchilds High, Sandy Point high and Cayon High school. As well as Gingerland and Charlestown secondary schools from Nevis.
     
    "I am certain that this program will have a positive impact on the lives of our students, we welcome this additional effort by Cable & Wireless which we know is designed to improve the sporting skills of our students," said Lensworth Rogers, senior education officer. "And we can assure Cable & Wireless that we will make every effort in the ministry to see that our students gain all the benefits that they can from this program."
     
    "We will coordinate the entire event and invite the members of the community to register their prepaid numbers at every event that we have, the first registration party was at Verchilds on Saturday, July 22," said Laverne Caines.

    "Each customer can only register one number per high school, at the end of every quart and beginning in September of this year we will present a percentage of the Top up revenue from the registered numbers to the nominated program of the respective high schools."
