BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Apollo Effect Band, which would be headlining the first ever rock concert in the twin-island Federation, arrived in St. Kitts on Thursday night (Jan. 20).

The concert, dubbed ‘Escape Plan’, will be held tonight (Jan. 22) from 8:00 p.m. at Carnival Village and will also feature national artistes C-Jay, Crucial Bankie, Dagah, Nicha B, I.T.Y.C, King Konris and Rolhensha alongside the KC5 Band, the Green House Band from Nevis, DJ Flames and TNO Sounds

According to the band’s Manager, Catherine Ward, they are excited about being in St. Kitts. She said they heard about the promotions and they are really looking forward to the show.

The band also made a brief visit to SKNVibes' office yesterday and its members indicated that patrons could expect a different kind of vibe with lots of emotions, but the same high energy as the Federation’s music.

“It’s a cultural exchange and we hope people would enjoy where we come from as much as we are looking forward to experiencing and enjoying the national artistes who are also on the concert,” said one of the members named Shawn.

He said although they have heard of St. Kitts before, this is their first time on the island and also their first time performing in the Caribbean, noting that they are hoping to leave a positive and elevating mark.

“Music is universal and just as this is a new experience for the country in seeing a rock band perform, it is also a new experience for us seeing and being amongst the other acts,” the members stated.

The band will be in St. Kitts for one week and, apart from the concert, they are also scheduled to make performances at Shiggidy Shack, Club Kactus, Fisherman’s Wharf, Blue Martini and The Basement, where they will do a ‘meet and greet’ and autograph signing.

The Apollo Effect is a rock band from Canada that started with three members - Shawn Van de Sande, Brent Lunney and Jason Harvey – but has recently added Andy and Justin to its membership.

Escape Plan is organised by Kactus Entertainment and Selective Image, a promotion and management company out of Canada.
